Right before Valentine's Day catch Asian American stand-up comedian Margaret Cho at University of Missouri-Columbia Jesse Hall. She will be performing on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 8:00-10:00 p.m. The show will be opened by Selene Luna, a guest on "Monsters of Talk" with Jim Short. Tickets are $13 for students and $18 for public. You can get yours at the MSA/GPC Box Office in the MU Student Center. This event is sponsored by MSA/GPC Special Events, DSA, Women's Center, & LGBTQ Resource Center.
Cho was bullied as a kid for being different and used this as fuel to start performing professionally at age 16. The rest is history. Since then she has performed in over 300 concerts in two years, opened for Jerry Seinfeld, became executive producer of ABC sitcom, "All-American Girl," and is an active anti-racism, anti-bullying and gay rights activist.
