Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday.
Current practices of celebrating Mardi Gras include people wearing masks, costumes, participating in parades, etc.
This is generally the time of year where various festivals are taking place around the world, but what do you do if there’s not a celebration taking place near you? Don’t worry, Houlihan’s got you covered.
