Grab your beads and get your party on at Shaun Wolf Wortis's Mardi Gras on Saturday night at TT the Bears. An 11-piece band—the Legendary Vudu Krewe All-Star Mardi Gras Band—roars through a high-energy set of old New Orleans rhythm & blues music, and are joined by special guests like Barrence Whitfield, Jon Butcher, Rick Berlin, and the Boston Babydolls Burlesque troupe. Always a great party, it's also for a great cause, the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, which provides free medical care to musicians in need in New Orleans. $12, 8:30, 18+.

Also on Saturday, Murder By Death brings their whiskey-and-cello-soaked Johnny Cash meets Tom Waits sound to theMiddle East, with the Fake Problems. $15, 18+, 8 PM.

On Sunday, Say Hi is at the Middle East, while the Get Up Kids play the Paradise.

On Monday, former Helium leader Mary Timony joins two-thirds of Sleater-Kinney in a new project, Wild Flag. Carrie Brownstein, now known for her TV sketch comedy skills with Fred Armisen in "Portlandia," is part of the project, along with Janet Weiss and Rebecca Cole. Their Merge Records page says their sound asks the musical question, "what is the sound of an avalanche taking out a dolphin?" Find out on Monday at the Brighton Music Hall. Yellow Fever and Shepherdess open. $12, 18+, 9 PM.
