One big draw is the headliners concerts, which are included with park admission and are first-come, first-served to stake out your spot in front of the stage near the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster. But even if you don't watch the main band, there's plenty of other entertainment.
New Orleans bands play throughout the evening, and you can stroll down the Bourbon Street area and sample delicious Cajun cuisine. You'll also run into stilt walkers and street performers adding to the ambiance.
Be sure to catch the Mardi Gras parade, which is packed with performers and a dozen bead-flinging floats, including four that are new for 2013. The parade runs every night of the event.
The park's regular shows and attractions are all open during Mardi Gras, too. Come early to do the usual attractions, the plan to stay late to have a Cajun-style dinner and catch the parade and band.
