Marcus Spears will be leaving the Dallas Cowboys in June

As posted yesterday, March the 13th at DallasCowboys.com, the Dallas Cowboys are releasing defensive lineman Marcus Spears, as of June 1. Also on the block for release is a possible Doug Free.

Spears has played for eight seasons and the move will save the Cowboys around 2 million dollars.

Spears has had knee issues and is very positive about all of this. He tweeted thusly;

Fans of Dallas thank u all so much for 8 yrs the good and bad times ill be moving on!! The support has been tremendous! From my family thx U.

He later tweeted;

Guys don't be sad for me please! I've been blessed beyond measure! Everything you do in life is for a season except for family!
