According to a press release issued early Tuesday morning by Supreme Warrior Championship, the original main event of this Saturday's SWC 11 in Frisco, Texas between WEC-vet Marcus Hicks (9-3) and Mike Bronzoulis (7-2-1) has been scratched. This was the second attempt to pair up the two welterweights. No word yet on the circumstances behind the canceled bout.
The match up between SWC CEO Davis Sylvester (5-2) and Oklahoman Lewis McKenzie (9-3) will be bumped up to main event status.
Sylvester, 37, has won his last two, the most recent of which occurred at SWC 10 in April, submitting Mark Reyes with a guillotine choke. The SWC boss trains with Marcus Hicks in Lewisville, Texas.
The Oklahoman McKenzie's last journey to Texas in November of last year ended with him submitting to a rear naked choke at the hands of Chad Robichaux in a Legacy FC bantamweight title bout. Since then, the San Da Fight Club product has won two of his last three.
Stay tuned for more developments regarding SWC 11...
