Martha Jeffers, a copy editor who resides in Fort Myers, will lead the class.

"Mrs. Jeffers promises to make the boring subject of grammar and editing humorous and entertaining as well as educational. The 'Grammar Granny' has been featured in the News-Press, and she has shared her humorous grammar presentations with various civic groups, as well as Florida Gulf Coast University and several elementary schools.

This talented writer and her husband moved from southeastern Ohio to Lee County, Fla., in 1969. Several years later, she began working as a career counselor for the School District of Lee County, retiring in 1999 after 25 years. She has served as president of the Lee County Vocational Association, and president of the Gulf Coast Writers Association Corporate Board." - Marco Island Writers

Also, according to this writer's group, if one is technically challenged the last thirty minutes of the meeting will be set aside to assist the members with computer technology tips. Such tips will be taught by Lisa Wroble, member of MIW and an educator.

It is suggested for those interested in learning computer tips to bring one's laptop or tablet.

"Congratulations are in order for two of our members. They are Tom Williams and Don Farmer. Williams was awarded the 2013 Gold Medal from the Florida Book Awards in the general non-fiction category for his book, 'Surrounded by Thunder: The Story of Darrell Loan and the Rocketman.'

Farmer, with Chris Curle, were finalists among the 2013 USA Book News - Best Book Awards in the Best Fiction - Mystery/Suspense category for their book, 'Deadly News.' - Marco Island Writers
