Marcia Pinder honored for her coaching career at Dillard High School

Marcia Pinder, the Florida high school basketball coach with the most ever wins will be inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on June 17, 2014 during the Association’s national convention in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Pinder has coached girls’ basketball at Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale for 37 years and has a total record of 854-186 mark. She has led the team to the Final Four competition 36 times during the past 37 years and has won eight state championships, according to a statement on June 5 by Nadine Drew, spokesperson for the Broward County School District.

Pinder was quoted in the statement as saying, “I love the state championships, but my biggest thrill comes from the girls getting into college and pursuing their degrees. When I constantly see these players get to college, it makes me feel good,” said Pinder.
