Some of us never lost a passion for marching band.
At the time, marching band was just a way to escape the harrowing nightmare that was Physical Education. It was a way to get around unkind coaches and team mates who were actually adept to such bodily treatments.
Yes, there would be no public disrobing for some us.
But then, once you're in and know what it's like to stand before the cheering masses, shaking, wiping your brow and trying to remember your next steps and first notes, without anticipating them, you're hooked!
So, you sign up for it for the next three years that are the remainder of your high school education.
Some of us graduated in 1984 and are still excited by the sight of a marching band, even if it's just from the bleachers with a long lens.
Hence, it is with a still-passionate streak that we present some of the marching bands from the 2012 parade.
