Take a peek at these Midwestern equestrian happenings planned for Friday, March 28, through Sunday, March 30.

R&L Training Stables schedules a Christy Loflin Barrel Clinic at Prairie Winds Show Horses, in Buckingham, Illinois, for March 28 to 30.

The Hawkeye Select Horse and Tack Sale comes to the Iowa Equestrian Center at Kirkwood Community College, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from March 28 to 30. Accompanying this event is Ranch Sorting on March 29 and 30.

In Mosinee, Wisconsin, Lake Shelby Farm hosts a Comprehensive Saddle Fitting Class and Test Ride Clinic with Cami Weininger on March 29 and 30.

Mark Aplin teaches a Jumping Clinic on March 29 and 30 at Sunflower Farms, in Bristol, Wisconsin.

On March 29, in West Bend, Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Western Dressage Club (WWDC) presents Cowboy Dressage 101 with Tests at Country View Equestrian Estates.

A Dummy Roping Clinic goes on March 29 at Sackett Ranch in Burnett, Wisconsin.

In Seymour, Wisconsin, Ellie Jensen Neerdaels leads a Couples Day Clinic on March 29 at Circle E Equestrian Stables.

Also on March 29, Heartland Stables, of Custer, Wisconsin, adds an installment to its Beat the Blues Winter Series.

Dover Stables, of Waterford, Wisconsin, holds an Introduction to French Classical Dressage clinic with Bethany Tuskey on March 29.

Lazy Creek Farm opens its 2014 Speed Show Series with a March 29 event in Juneau, Wisconsin.

In Ashland, Wisconsin, Pink Socks Farm has a PSF Mock Show on March 29.

Tempel Farms’ “Making Dreams Come True” Fundraising Gala for Midwest Therapeutic Riding Program steps up March 29 in Wadsworth, Illinois.

Dan Grunewald and T.J. Clibborn team up for a Tack and Techniques clinic at Four Winds Equestrian Center, in Salem, Wisconsin, on March 29.

The Wisconsin Horse Council (WHC) Judges Seminar runs March 29 at Heartland Stables, in Custer, Wisconsin.

In Spring Grove, Illinois, Meadowsweet Ranch’s March 30 Gambler’s Choice adds to the American Competitive Trail Horse Association’s 2014 calendar.

The 2nd Annual American Collegiate Horsemen’s Association (ACHA) clinic, titled “Advancing the Horse/Rider Relationship with Dan Grunewald,” is set for March 30 at Focus Farm, in Helenville, Wisconsin.

Also on March 30, a Tack Swap at Wild Winds Ranch, including an afternoon fun show, is scheduled in West Salem, Wisconsin.

In West Bend, Wisconsin, the Washington County 4-H Horse Project’s Mega Tack Sale is slated for March 30 at Washington County Fair Park.

The accompanying slideshow includes show bills and flyers for these equestrian events.

Note: Several Midwestern equestrian venues have canceled or postponed upcoming events in the wake of recent reports of EHV-1 cases, particularly in Southern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. Horse lovers are urged to confirm events before embarking.

Advance signups and fees may be required for any or all of these late March equestrian events.
