There is a lot happening in March that is pet related. Check out the events below and see what you may want to participate in. Many events are pet-friendly.

  • March 13th – TailsSpin at Habersham is having another Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic for military, seniors, and students. They will also be providing a pet microchip clinic. The event will be from 2pm to 4pm. The microchipping will be provided by the Humane Society for Greater Savannah at $20 each pet. The vaccine clinic will be conducted by Dr. Stanley Lester of Landmark Veterinary Services, LLC (912) 398-4834. The low-cost vaccination clinic will offer the following vaccinations for $12 each ($2 of the proceed will benefit Savannah's Pet Rescue Agencies): Rabies Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza,and Parvovirus (DHPP), Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus,Panleukopenia (FVRCP), Bordetella, and Leukemia. Pet owners will also receive 10% off all heartworm prevention.
  • March 13th – Coastal Pet Rescue is having a pet adoption day at Ace Hardware on Wilmington Island. It will be from 11am until 3pm. There will be various pets available for adoption with plenty of applications to get them. They have many pets available for adoption, so if you do not see what you are looking for please feel free to ask them.
  • March 13th – Tybee Island Dogs on the Beach group will be walking in the 8th Annual Tybee Island Irish Heritage Parade with their dogs. All are invited to walk in the parade but you must meet at the YMCA at 2:30 as the parade starts at 3:00. All participates must have their dogs on a leash and have doggy bags. This is to show Tybee City Council that there are responsible dog owners and that dogs should be allowed on the beach.
  • March 20th – Humane Society for Greater Savannah is having their book sale from 9am until 1pm. All books will be $0.25. The proceeds go to the animals in the shelter for their care. Any donations will be gladly accepted as well. Take a look inside if you are interested in adopting any of these animals.
