The 3rd Wednesday of each month, Creative Loafings music editor Jeff Hahne hosts an Off the Record session at the Evening Muse with local Charlotte musicians, singers & songwriters. The March artists have now been announced as Megan McCormick opening and The New Familiars as the featured artists. What a great line-up!
Designed to be an informal discussion to allow artists to share a bit about themselves, what they’ve been up to and what is behind their music this is a wonderful opportunity to gety to know more about Megan, perhaps what it was like to be a part of the band everybodyfields, or what touring solo has been like for her. Maybe she’ll share thoughts about her current collaborations with the Jill Andrews Band. All this and also listen to an acoustic set of her music as we ponder the ongoing dialogue!
Following Megan, we’ll receive a rare gift of a completely acoustic set with the New Familiars. Featuring Josh Daniel on vocals/guitar/resonator; Justin Fedor on vocals/guitar/mandolin; Daniel Flynn on vocals/drums and Patrick Maholland on bass, this Off the Record session is a unique opportunity to hear these guys in their purest form in an intimate listening room. In my mind this is the environment that their music is designed to be heard in. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up your copy of their CD “Between the Moon & The Morning Light”, recorded byJoe Kuhlmann at his 34th & Hudson studios in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Seats at this show will be limited, so I recommend you get your tickets in advance here.
See you at the show on Wednesday, March 21st!!
