March Madness 2014 kicks off in style this year with the Party for Peace on March 20 at 6:00 pm in Washington, DC. Participants will be able to enjoy the first round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament while supporting Peace Players International and their mission to use basketball as a tool to create peace around the world.

Capitale, located at 1301 K Street Northwest, D.C., is the place to be for a night of fun and excitement. Attendees will be treated to a full open bar, appetizers from Hill Country BBQ, a special NCAA square competition, and a chance to win prizes in the silent auction.

Peace Players International is a nonprofit organization which uses basketball to unite, educate, and inspire young people living in divided communities and refocuses their mindset towards peacebuilding. Through year-round programs in South Africa, Northern Ireland, Israel/West Bank, and Cyprus, Peace Players have been able to reach over than 55,000 young people since 2001..

Local coaches are trained to help children through the process of relationship-building in which they begin to trust “the other.” The curriculum uses fun basketball activities to teach children concrete ways to transcend conflict.
