The March Madness 2013 bracket has been officially revealed as of Sunday evening on CBS. The "NCAA Championship Selection Show" was seen at 6 p.m. EST on local affiliate station WDBJ 7, with all of the teams and seeds unveiled for this year's "Big Dance." Greg Gumble hosted this year's special and was joined by Seth Davis, Greg Anthony and Doug Gottlieb.
According to on March 17 on ESPN, this year's #1 seeds will be Indiana, Kansas, Gonzaga and Louisville. There were 31 automatic bids and 37 at large bids. The #1 overall seed this year is the Louisville Cardinals after winning a share of the Big East regular season title, and the Conference Championship just yesterday.
Louisville will be in the Midwest region and will play the winner of the North Carolina A&T vs. Liberty game in the First Four. Surprisingly, the Duke Blue Devils will be a #2 seed in the same region, rather than a #1 this year.
Other #1 seeds this year will be Kansas in the South region, Indiana in the East region, and Gonzaga in the West. Gonzaga was ranked #1 overall in the nation heading into Selection Sunday.
The NCAA Tournament 2013 schedule gets started just a few days from now. Games are set to begin with the First Round aka the "First Four" on March 19 and 20, followed by Second Round games on March 21 and 22. The Third Round takes place next Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24.
The NCAA Sweet Sixteen is scheduled for March 28 and 29, with the Elite Eight on March 30 and 31. That leads to the Final Four and Championship game in Atlanta, Georgia. The Men's Tournament final game is set for April 8.
There will be live streaming online and TV coverage with stations such as CBS, TBS, TNT and TruTV all presenting games. Roanoke viewers can watch the NCAA Tournament March Madness coverage on Cox Cable channels 7 for CBS affiliate WDBJ, 6 for TBS, 58 for TNT, and 61 for truTV.
