March is National Flour Month (Photos)

Hey! With February being National Flour Month how can you miss. Where would we be without flour. “I never think much about flour,” you may say. Well, just stop for a moment. Without flour there’s no bread. What! No bread! How am I going to eat my soup? No toast in the morning! No sandwiches! Unthinkable!

Without flour … no pasta! No! Don’t say it. A day without pasta is a day without life. No flour – no dumplings – no dim sum –no pita, which of course means no felafel. Without flour there would be no birthday cakes. How can you have a birthday without a birthday cake. I think it’s the law … it’s written. No flour = no muffins or coffee cake! No flour = no donuts! No pancakes, no waffles, no aebleskivers, no crepes, no pretzels, no bagels and no croissants. No flour, no cookies. No cookies! Can there be life without cookies? Or biscuits?

No flour – no pie – no way! Now that’s just un-American! And of course without flour, how are you going to thicken your sauces, soups and stews? How are you going to batter your fish‘n’ chips, bread your cutlets or make a roux!

So, hie thee into the kitchen and celebrate flour! The following are a few recipes that may help.
