Get out your walking shoes, it's time to March for Babies in Phoenix.
The March of Dimes' largest annual fundraiser hits the streets of downtown Phoenix at 8 a.m. April 13. The event begins at Wesley Bolin Plaza at 1700 W. Washington St. The walk is 3.5 miles.
More than 4 million babies are born in the United States each year and the March of Dimes has helped each and every one of them through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs, the organization states. March of Dimes celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
“March for Babies gives everyone in our community the chance to work together for stronger, healthier babies and make a difference in the lives of millions of babies,” said 2013 Chair, Derrick Hall, President and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks. “I can’t think of a more important cause than healthy babies.”
There is still time to join a team, start your own or contribute financially to the cause. For information, call 602-266-9933 or go to http://www.marchforbabies.org.
