On March 7, Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater welcomes Children of Bodom, Death Angel, and TYR. Doors for this all-ages event are scheduled to open at 7 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Formed in 1993, Finland’s Children of Bodom play melodic death metal. The band has released eight full-length studio CDs, the latest of which is titled Halo of Blood.

Originally formed in 1983, California’s Death Angel play thrash metal. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Dream Calls for Blood.

TYR’s latest album is titled Valkyrja. TYR’s music is difficult to describe in terms of extreme genres. There’s a strong dose of folk music in the proceedings, but the band uses heavy metal—a combination of NWOBHM, power, and a slight dose of death metal—to achieve a rousing, majestic sound. TYR come from the Faroe Islands.

The Sunshine Theater is located in downtown Albuquerque at 120 Central Avenue SW. Get further details by calling 505-764-0249.
