Award-winning filmmaker John Krokidas makes his feature directorial debut in the provocative biographical drama film Kill Your Darlings, which he also co-wrote and co-produced. Set in the 1940s, the film tells the previously untold true story of friendship and murder that led to the birth of the Beat Generation, bringing together the three great poets Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs. Starring Daniel Radcliffe from the Harry Potter film franchise as Ginsberg, the thriller features an ensemble cast that includes Dane DeHaan, Ben Foster, Michael C. Hall, Jack Huston, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Elizabeth Olsen. Kill Your Darlings premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival as Grand Jury Prize nominee. The film was also the official selection of the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals, taking home the Venice Days International Award.

The year is 1944 and Allen Ginsberg is a young college student enrolled at Columbia University where he finds stuffy tradition clashing with daringly modern ideas and attitudes. There the shy, unsophisticated Ginsberg becomes drawn to his handsome, charismatic, anti-establishment classmate Lucien Carr. Alongside Carr, Ginsberg is soon drawn into his hard-drinking, jazz-clubbing circle of friends, including aspiring writers William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac. An older hanger-on named David Kammerer, who is in love with Carr, clearly resents Ginsberg’s position as Lucien’s new sidekick. When Kammerer is mysteriously murdered, it changes the lives of these friends forever -- setting the stage to throw traditional values to the wind and sparking the birth of the Beat Generation.
