Last night, Marc Jacobs’ fragrances celebrated one of its most popular scents “Daisy” with VIPs, champagne, and beats from The Jane Doze, all at the opening of a pop-up shop using an unexpected social media twist. The cocktail party kicked off the Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop where no dollars changed hands. The social-media savvy guests used Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #MJDaisyChain as a special form of “currency” to receive samples of Daisy Marc Jacobs and the chance to win bigger prizes like Marc Jacobs bags.
Guests were able to take photos in a live Daisy photo booth, peruse artwork by Langley Fox Hemingway and sipped cocktails, but the high point for the beauty-savvy crowd (in addition to the celeb sightings) was the manicure station, where guests had their nails done in exchange for a Tweet or Instagram. Products, fragrance samples and Marc Jacobs fashion items and accessories were displayed throughout the social media-friendly lounge.
The celeb studded crowd included Anna Kendrick (Actress, Pitch Perfect), Jamie Chung (Actress, Believe), Jim Parrack (Actor, True Blood), Langley Fox (Artist), Louise Roe (TV Personality), Maggie Grace (Actress, Taken), Meghan Markel (Actress, Suits), Phoebe Tonkin (Actress, The Originals), and many others.
Located in Soho at 462 West Broadway, the shop will open to the public beginning TODAY - February 7 - February 9, from 11:00AM – 7:00PM, during New York Fashion Week.
Along with enjoying a DJ set by DJ Jilly Hendrix, the most creative social media posts throughout the day will have a chance to win Marc Jacobs handbags and other fashion accessories. The debut of the Tweet Shop will be accompanied by a new print campaign for Daisy, which follows the recently released TV spot directed by Academy Award-winning Director Sofia Coppola.
