Designer Marc Jacobs presented his much-anticipated and well-attended fashion show for his Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 collection during New York Fashion Week.
Held at The Theatre at Lincoln Center on February 11, 2013 in New York City, the fashion show featured Jacobs’s infinitely wearable Womenswear and Menswear collections on an equal footing. But ladies first…
Jacobs offers women some lovely prints in his Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 collection, including various geometric shapes and the more organic floral and leaf pattern, if slightly stylized.
Colors are vibrant and in combinations pleasing to the eye, such as purple, red, black and yellow or red, white, blue and black.
Knee-length plaid boyfriend jackets top work-a-day ensembles in style, accessorized by a variety of retro-inspired handbags in a varied color palette.
For men there are silky suits, in particular the cobalt blue and deep red casually constructed suit, teamed with a matching button-down shirt. Light beige or natural oxford sneakers and a delicate pendant, assuming from this collection, complete the look on the bed-headed (slightly roughed up yet adorable!) male model. Plaid coats and jackets are similarly offered.
Eyewear for both men and women feature frames in buffalo cream/brown horn, with dark brown lenses, in particular, wayfarer style for men and a slightly flared butterfly shape for women.
Most surprisingly, Jacobs came out to greet the crowd in a plaid pants ensemble when he almost invariably favors a man skirt or kilt for his shows! Looking better than ever – Jacobs was well received in any guise…
Attending the fashion show were famed photographer Terry Richardson, Japanese Vogue Editor-at-Large Anna Dello Russo, French fashion and culture magazine Purple founder Olivier Zahm, photographer Atlanta De Cadenet, Jessica Stam and Emmanuelle Alt.
