Marc Anthony, band and friends shake up Brooklyn (Photos)

Valentine's weekend may be over but not for the thousands of fans that attended this weekend's concerts at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Marc Anthony and friends.

A one night sold out concert that was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16 turned into an additional concert for Friday also being sold out. The latter with a special performance of Tito 'El Bambino' was to benefit Maestro Cares Foundation - all ticket sales, raffle proceeds and donations are for the continued efforts of building the new orphanage Orfanato Niños de Cristo (Children of Christ) in Dominican Republic. The orphanage will include a kitchen, laundry room, cafeteria, library, chapel, classrooms, dorm rooms, a teacher’s lounge, workshop area, business center and a baseball field. The same night The Unanue family and Goya Foods made a donation of $150,000 to Maestro Cares Foundation.

As for Saturday's concert, it was more than a special performance once again with Tito 'El Bambino' who performed with Marc Anthony their recent duo "¿Por Qué Les Mientes?" Who would have known of the extra surprises that came throughout the night to add to the emotional Marc Anthony two hour concert full of screams, laughter, salsa, love, compassion and sudden adrenaline rush. But also with special mention for the opening act both nights with comedian Joey Vega and Marc Anthony's band and singers who always perform superbly.

The Marc Anthony concert was long overdue for New York, surrounding areas and for those that traveled from far as did Frances Roman Ortiz with her sister from New Haven, Conn. who also volunteered. They were all treated to a lengthy repertoire of "I Need To Know", "Y Hubo Alguien", "Volando Entre Tus Brazos", "Hasta Ayer", "Valio La Pena", "Y Como Es El", "Contra La Corriente", "Vivir Lo Nuestro", "Hasta Que Te Conocí", "Te Conozco Bien", "Mi Gente" with the added surprises of singing "Nadie Como Ella" accompanied by bachata singer Romeo Santos and "Rain Over Me" with Pitbull. "It was worth the last minute decision and then the long drive back home as it started to snow," commented Frances.

Maestro Cares volunteers were also present at Saturday's concert for added proceeds to the foundation. If you would like to donate to Maestro Cares Foundation you may do so by clicking ===>Maestro Cares donations.

Marc Anthony's next concert will be at The MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. Saturday, April 20 at 8:00 p.m. For tickets click ===>Marc Anthony concert tickets.
