Los Angeles based photographer, Monique Hollander spent a few days at the tents and all over the city documenting Fashion Week. With Creatures of the Wind, Mara Hoffman, Parkchoonmoo, Georgine and many other happening events, we are fortunate to have some of her pictures here on Examiner.

Just prior to her arrival, Creatures of the Wind was taking place in the Pavilion at Lincoln Center. With exceptionally tight security, the Pavilion space for Creatures of the Wind (and later Parkchoomoo and Georgine) the vaulted ceilings with tones of light brush-stroked greens and greys was the most soothing setting to serve as a pleasant background for the shows.

The famous androgynous model from the Dominican Republic, Omahyra Mota (remember the story about meeting her previously at a party on the Lower East Side at a hair salon opening?) graced the runway which was thrilling to see, restraining the sheer excitement was not easy..

Mara Hoffman in the Salon had a full house and Monique Hollander was able to score a front row seat and take videos of the show (please check back soon for the uploaded video of Mara Hoffman Fall/Winter 2014).

Once in a while, a "luxury problem" (as a dear friend puts it) took place, being double-booked for shows. Milk or Lincoln Center? Sometimes the decisions are difficult, but attending the after-party can be the next best thing.

Another journalist invited me to the Georgine after-party at Fig and Olive. With some of the most delicious tapas, music and wine in the city, Fig and Olive was a welcome retreat from the FW frenzy. The dj played some of the best chill out music and the Georgine crowd was exceptionally glamorous.

All the pr firms hired for Fashion Week have been extremely polite and professional which often times can be overwhelming at times, so kudos to all of the interns and full-time staff for bringing the media these incredible shows.

Monique has returned back to L.A. but Fashion Week lives on!

Today's shows: Naeem Khan, Concept Korea and Pamella Roland should be awesome.
