For Tuesday, March 5th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Hart of Dixie (The CW, 8 p.m.) – “We Are Never Getting Back Together” – Zoe (Rachel Bilson) tries to keep her feelings about Wade (Wilson Bethel) under control, causing her to become overly protective when it comes to Rose (guest star McKaley Miller) and her boyfriend. Lavon (Cress Williams) and Wade are forced to work together at the church’s casino fundraiser, but when money goes missing suspicion immediately falls on Wade. Meanwhile, Brick (Tim Matheson) and Shelby’s (guest star Laura Bell Bundy) big decision about their relationship pushes a concerned Lemon (Jaime King) to try and sabotage things with the help of George (Scott Porter).
American Idol (FOX, 8 p.m.) – "Las Vegas, Round One" – Ten finalists perform live from Las Vegas.
Go On (NBC, 9 p.m.) – “Double Down” – Ryan (Matthew Perry), still pained from the breakup with Simone, (Piper Perabo) backslides into his old gambling habit, though sternly warned by Lauren (Laura Benanti) to steer clear. But when he receives the life insurance check for his deceased wife, it’s more than he can bear and he starts making bets on anything and everything. Meanwhile Anne (Julie White) meets a stunning, young bookstore clerk, Brittney (Annie Heise), who turns out to be all beauty and no brains. Lauren comes to Ryan’s rescue by fleecing him at poker and in the aftermath, Ryan bonds with Anne over their respective lost loves.
Smash (NBC, 10 p.m.) – “The Read-Through” – Julia’s (Debra Messing) fears increase when Tom (Christian Borle) airs his suspicions of Peter (guest star Daniel Sunjata). Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan) and Kyle (Andy Mientus) confront their own crisis of confidence as “Hit List” is read for the first time. Meanwhile, Ivy (Megan Hilty) realizes her triumph might not be all she hoped when she meets her new co-star, Terry Falls (guest star Sean Hayes), and Karen (Katharine McPhee) wonders if she can trust Jimmy.
Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) – “Make It Better” – Jules’ dad (Ken Jenkins) recovers from an injury at her house, while she steadfastly refuses to tell him about her own health issues, while Grayson (Josh Hopkins) and Bobby (Brian Van Holt) try to teach Travis (Dan Byrd) to be a ladies’ man.
