From Gabriele Muccino, the director of The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds, comes the heartwarming romantic comedy film Playing for Keeps written by Robbie Fox. Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel lead an all-star cast that includes Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman, Judy Greer and Dennis Quaid.
Hitting rock bottom, the charming, former professional soccer player George Dryer returns home to get his life back in order and to rebuild a relationship with his estranged son Lewis and ex-wife Stacie -- who is about to get remarried. One day, George gets his second chance when he is roped into coaching Lewis’ soccer team. However it proves to be more challenging than he expected when the sex-starved soccer moms hurl themselves at him, a millionaire parent bribes him with a Ferrari and a hot ex-sportscaster promises to use her connections to get him the dream sportscaster job. With so many temptations and distractions, George manages to screw things up once again when his son quits the soccer team and Stacie becomes incredibly disappointed in him. Finally realizing his priorities, George plays for keeps to win his family back before he loses them forever.
