For Sunday, March 17th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Once Upon A Time (ABC, 8 p.m.) – "Welcome to Storybrooke" – Emma (Jennifer Morrison), David (Josh Dallas), and Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) must protect Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) against Regina (Lana Parrilla), who is out for revenge and has made it her mission to kill Mary; and Henry (Jared Gilmore), fed up with all of the feuding, devises a plan to put an end to magic. Meanwhile, Regina discovers that a father and son have somehow found their way into her allegedly undetectable town as she and the fairytale characters deal with the effects of the newly cast curse 28 years prior.
Revenge (ABC, 9 p.m.) – "Illumination" – The queen and king of smoke and mirrors, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) and Conrad (Henry Czerny) make a calculated move, starting a charitable foundation in the late Amanda Clarke's name. But little do they know that Jack (Nick Wechsler) is not buying it and has a plan of his own. Meanwhile, Emily's (Emily VanCamp) past catches up to her again.
The Good Wife (CBS, 9 p.m.) – “Invitation to an Inquest” – Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Will’s (Josh Charles) latest case brings them to an inquest at the coroner’s office, where they are hindered by a strict rule that limits their questioning to three per witness. Also, Cary’s (Matt Czuchry) father returns to bring new business to the firm and Eli (Alan Cumming) schemes against Jordan (T.R. Knight).
Shameless (SHO, 9 p.m.) – “Frank The Plumber” – Fiona (Emmy Rossum) starts a new office job as a temp at Worldwide Cup. She has a hard time fitting in with the corporate culture. When her co-workers report her for having ‘porn’ on her work computer, she meets the affable head of her department who tells her she’s doing a great job, but to take the language down a notch. Fiona likes it here. Frank’s (William H. Macy) gout is flaring up and since he’ll be in need of some medical care, he’s hoping to obtain domestic partnership rights for living with his new roommate. When he is denied benefits, Frank’s tirade to a local politician winds up on the news. Frank inadvertently becomes the face of the gay rights movement. Jimmy (Justin Chatwin) is continuing to confront the difficulties of living in squalor. He loses his car and is robbed at gunpoint by a little girl. He shows up at the hospital to talk about the possibility of returning to Med School. Meanwhile, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is upset Mandy (Emma Greenwell) has been applying to colleges for him. An MIT alumni rep shows up to interview Lip, and Lip calls him out on the bullshit of higher education. Debbie (Emma Kenney) calls in sick to school to take care of a depressed Sheila (Joan Cusack). Kev (Steve Howey) and Veronica (Shanola Hampton) debate about circumcision. Mickey (Noel Fisher) beats the sh*t out of Ian (Cameron Monaghan) for trying to force him to come to terms with his sexuality.
Red Widow (ABC, 10 p.m.) – “The Escape” – Desperate to escape Schiller (Goran Visnjic), Marta (Radha Mitchell) makes preparations to flee the country with her children. But her plan is derailed when Irwin (Wil Traval) is released from prison earlier than anticipated. Far from feeling contrite about his time served, Irwin is full of new plans for the expansion of "their" business-- including making a deal between Schiller and a notorious marijuana kingpin. Meanwhile, simmering tension between Irwin and Andrei (Rade Serbedzija) comes to a head when Andrei refuses to back his son's new ventures, and a coke-addled Mike (Lee Tergesen) stoops to staging a robbery of his own home to pay off debts.
