Mar. 12, 2013 DVD & Blu-ray: 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit 25th Anniversary Edition'

Coming to Blu-ray for the very first time is the fantasy comedy film Who Framed Roger Rabbit directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Jeffrey Price and Peter S. Seaman. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Academy Award-winning contemporary classic has been digitally restored with astonishing special effects. Mixed with live action and animation, the film is based on Gary K. Wolf's novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit?. It stars Bob Hoskins as private detective Eddie Valiant, Charles Fleischer as the voice of Roger Rabbit, Christopher Lloyd as the villainous Judge Doom, Kathleen Turner as the voice of Jessica Rabbit, Joanna Cassidy as Valiant’s on-off girlfriend Delores and Lou Hirsch as the voice of Baby Herman.

Set in 1947 Hollywood, California, toon-hating detective Eddie Valiant is hired to see if Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is having an affair with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit. However, when Acme turns up dead, Jessica’s husband Maroon Cartoon superstar Roger Rabbit becomes the prime suspect. With the evil, power-hungry Judge Doom ready to throw the books at Roger Rabbit to bring him to justice, Eddie is Roger’s only hope of proving his innocence. The plot thickens when Roger Rabbit’s costar Baby Herman, a 50-year-old toon who looks like an infant, claims Acme’s will that bequeaths Toontown to the toons has gone missing and the very existence of Toontown is at stake. With the clock ticking, they must dig deeper quickly into scandal after scandal and expose the real evildoer before Toontown is no more.
