Maple Syrup Saturday, this Saturday March 20th

Can you imagine pancakes or waffles without maple syrup? Definitely not. Remember to pay your homage to this sweetener made from sap Saturday, March 20th. If you go out on Maple Syrup Saturday, order a breakfast you can top with syrup or try out one of these unique recipes:

Or better yet, make your own!

Maple Syrup
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. corn syrup
4 c. water
1 tbsp. maple extract
Blend white sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook on medium heat for 1 hour. Remove from stove top and add vanilla and maple extract. Mix well---Voila! Maple Syrup!
