According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed former Calgary Flame Dion Phaneuf to a seven year deal worth $49 million on Tuesday.

A three-time all-star, Phaneuf has four goals and 11 assists for 15 points with the Maple Leafs this season in 39 games. He also has 50 penalty minutes and is a +13. Now in his tenth season in the NHL, Phaneuf is also highly regarded as an outstanding selection in any regular season fantasy pool.

Phaneuf was drafted in the first round by the Calgary Flames in 2003, and spent five seasons with the Flames before moving to Toronto in a blockbuster deal on January 31, 2010.

Phaneuf is also famous for a high profile relationship he has off the ice. On July 6, 2013, Phaneuf married Canadian actress and Calgary native Elisha Cuthbert, who is best known for her outstanding acting in the series of 24. The marriage took place in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island.
