Maple Ave brings home one title at Gloves with three fights set for Saturday

Maple Ave. Boxing Gym came home Friday with one Championship as John Luna did the honors at 125 lbs. It appeared James Robertson had also won- he was declared the winner until the ring announcer changed the decision in mid sentence. Many in the crowd thought he won anyway.

Saturday night Maple Ave. has three heavyweights in Finals action in different categories. Adrian Taylor, Rodney Birdow, and Henry Johnson. Good luck to all three.

Losing in their final bouts last night were Robertson, Andrew Soliz, Demarcus Oatman,Theodore Hollman and De'Vonte Horace.

Faces in the night No. 3 sold out crowd at the Hella Shrine Temple Arena included Simon and Carrie Perkins, Alfredo Fortenboher, Akira Imai, three-time state champion and middleweight contender Big Sugar Ray Phillips, and 2012 Olympic welterweight Errol Spence Jr. And of course the family and friends of the Maple Ave. participants.
