Many SF areas poised for huge property-value jumps

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that our beloved Bay Area is on the brink of major increases in housing prices. That’s according to Zillow, which conducted a survey of 245 area zip codes and found that nearly all of them are looking like they’re going to jump in value. Only Calistoga is poised to see decreasing values – and only by 1.4 percent at that.

“The forces of supply and demand seem to be exacerbated here right now,” Zillow senior economist Svenja Gudell told the Chron. “We’re happily surprised by how well (the market) is doing and how much it’s picking up steam.”

San Francisco neighborhoods on the brink of serious growth include Bernal Heights, Noe Valley, the Castro, Mission Dolores and Glen Park. Specific zip codes where Zillow projects a 10 to 13 percent increase in home values are 94102, 94114, 94131 and 94110.

For all other San Francisco zip codes, Zillow projects a 7 to 10 percent increase this year. Combine that with a serious lack of inventory and you’re looking at a pretty robust seller’s market. If you want to get in on the action, I can help. Get in touch!
