Many local clubs take break for Gasparilla

With the Gasparilla Parade slated for Saturday afternoon in Tampa Bay, many of the local clubs are using this weekend to take a break from action. The Tampa Bay Krewe, the St. Petersburg Pelicans, and the Pasco Myrmidons all will commemorate the occasion by enjoying the festivities in South Tampa. However, other local teams will still be in action over the weekend.

The Tampa Barbarians Boys’ Under 19s will host the Estero Spartans 2 PM on Saturday afternoon. The location for the game is the Barbarians’ new home pitch, located at Cuscaden Park in Ybor City. The address is 2900 North 15th Street in Tampa.

The University of South Florida (USF) Bulls will travel to Orlando to take on the University of Central Florida (UCF) Knights on Saturday afternoon. UCF placed second among collegiate clubs competing for the Florida Cup last October, with their only loss coming to the University of Florida Gators. This match will be first Division One Matrix match for the Bulls, and both the A and B sides will get a run in on Saturday.

The Sarasota Saracens will host the Orlando Men’s Rugby Club at the Lakewood Ranch Sports Complex Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. The facility is located on Oneco-Myakka City Road in Myakka City, Florida.
