Many judge Christianity by its human failures instead of its human successes. There are many opinions on what is Christianity but opinion can be far off target. Being a Christ follower is a start, but it takes more than words to earn the distinction of Christian.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus
The philosophy of Jesus Christ is outlined in the gospels of the New Testament with John 1:1 being a distinctive of God revealing Himself through Jesus Christ in the flesh. Christ and His disciples gave an ongoing explanation of who and what Jesus represented. Many times Christ used parables to drive home a spiritual truth or show who He existed as.
Too many following whether as believers or non-believers have attempted to adjust how they wanted to see Christ, but the Bible text is quite clear regarding Christ being the promised Messiah. Debates and pontifications rage about what people want to inject about Christ, however all that does is to attempt to bring confusion to what the gospel story states.
Anti-Christian forces today prefer to define Jesus or Christians through their on conjecture. It’s typical to see these same individuals judge Christianity through human failures instead of successes. They nearly always share a bad example while leaving any positive experiences unexpressed even though there are more good experiences than bad.
The active detractors of Christianity are convinced there is a plot to overthrow the United States Constitution and to insert a theocracy that is forced upon everyone. There are even comparisons to the Taliban or other radical Islamic fanatics.
It’s true there have been a fraction of a minute percentage of anti-abortionists involved in violence, but even this example is a failure to practice what Christ taught regarding showing righteous indignation towards evil.
“Be ye angry, but sin not” is the correct posture to take regarding dealing with what is deemed sinful action that a follower of Christ should consider. “Don’t let the sun go down on your anger” is a scriptural text that declares holding a grudge is entering the realm of sin.
Is there anywhere Jesus instructed to strap a bomb to yourself and blow up those that have a different opinion? How about overthrowing a government? If Christ was interested in rebellion, He had a marvelous opportunity to organize a revolt against the hated Roman occupation. But this was not the purpose of His coming.
Today there are many that pervert what Christianity is really all about. Author Michael Coren released a book called “Heresy: Ten Lies They (media) Spread About Christianity”. In the book Mr. Coren shares the inaccuracies in contemporary America concerning the Christian faith.

Deceptions as the Bible supporting slavery, is racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-intellectual, anti-Semitic, promotes war, resists progress, is repressive, and irrelevant has been spun to discredit Christianity.
Did Jesus promote any of these inaccurate claims even remotely? These silly attempts to link Christianity to the aforementioned human failures is too ridiculous to consider seriously. There are no parables or teachings of Jesus promoting those shortfalls.
Additionally other religions have attempted to claim Christ as they want to revamp Him and not by what Jesus actually declared and what the Bible stated. Their attempts to reinvent Christ to fit their dogma are just as invalid to consider.
This is about Christianity and Christ….not your personal opinion.
You define a Christian by if one follows and lives by what Christ did and said, not by compromising the standards set by the Bible. If they fail to “do what Christ instructed”, then they aren’t a Christian.
Jesus said many will claim “Lord, Lord” but will be rejected for failing to meet the standard declared by Christ in the Holy Scriptures.
Those pushing false claims merely are fulfilling prophesy when Jesus declared, “They have hated Me without cause”.
