Though there is some talk that things are calming down in Britain, order is apparently far from restored. A majority of Britons, about 54 percent, feel that British Prime Minister David Cameronhas has done a poor job of “providing leadership early enough to control the riots,” Reuters reported, and about 44 percent feel that he has handled the overall situation poorly.
Deep cuts to social services are thought to be an underlying motive for the riots, and one of the services included in those cuts was London’s police force.
Italy is another country that is talking tax hikes and austerity cuts to satisfy the demands of the European Central Bank in their efforts to bail out Italy, according to another Reuters article.
As Americans watch footage of what almost seems like the pillage of Briton by its own citizens, Rasmussen Reports found that 48 percent believe that cuts to social services programs in America could cause similar riots at home.
Another motive being offered regarding the riots in Briton is moral decay, according to CBN. Briton has been on a post-Christian slide for decades. In fact, it is considered politically incorrect by mainstream to discuss Christianity or Christian topics openly.
CBN reporter Dave Hurd commented that, “When you live on the bottom strata in a moral vacuum, it's not a matter of right or wrong, it's a matter of have or have not. I think if you could get one of the rioters, if you could stop them in the street and say, 'Why are you doing this? This is wrong,' you might actually get a puzzled look.”
Hurd also stated that the opposite of juedo-Christian values is basically lawlessness. When a society refuses to acknowledge the moral compass of absolute truth and devalues family and the gift of life, you’re left with people who are more likely to behave like animals during a crisis rather than civilized human beings.
