Interestingly, golfer Tiger Woods is going up against world record-holder runner Usain Bolt of Jamaica.

Pacquiao is being considered for "Fighter of the Year" honors, "Knockout of the Year," (vs Ricky Hatton), and "Fight of the Year" (vs Miguel Cotto). He earlier won "Fighter of the Decade" honors from Ring Magazine. He was also featured on TIME Magazine as one of the world's most influential people, as well as, featured on the front cover of the popular magazine's Asia edition.

The Filipino icon's Renaissance Man-like activities and image are reminiscent of star athlete Bo Jackson in the late 1980s. Jackson was an all-pro running back with the Oakland Raiders who often rushed an incredible 5 yards per carry throughout a limited season. He played roughly half a season of football due to his role as an all-star caliber outfielder for the Kansas City Royals (baseball) up until early fall. Tragically, Jackson's athletic career was cut short as he suffered a freak hip injury during a tackle. (He is now in the restaurant business, and a chef.) How about Deion Sanders ("Primetime"): professional baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds (among other teams) as well as one of the greatest football players to have played in the NFL - among others, playing for the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, and Dallas Cowboys.
With a looming showdown ahead, Manny Pacquiao is pushing boxing around his schedule so that the Renaissance Man can conduct one of his other priorities (in this case, politics). Team Pacquiao is currently negotiating a prospective showdown with former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr (40-0). However, several details still need to be ironed out in order to make the fight happen. It appears that Floyd wants to fight at the 154 lb junior middleweight level, using 10 oz. gloves. Bob Arum & Mike Koncz are up to somehing. They pushed Pacquiao to? agree without anyone in the negotiating room aside Pacquiao. I was surprised when Pacquiao agreed to this fight. I don´t know what Koncz have against Pacquiao that he cannot say no to him. I just hope Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza will not leave stubborn Pacquiao to be alone in this fight. The fight should be named Pacquiao vs. Mayweather because Pac is far more attracting than May. There are plenty of people who do not want May because of his trash talking attitude, so with his group like Street-corner group with complete disregard of mankind while Pac is the complete opposite with maners and education.
