Manny Pacquiao may fight Ruslan Provodnikov over Timothy Bradley

According to a report in Friday’s Philippine Star, Manny Pacquiao may scrap Ruslan Provodnikov on April 12 at a venue to be determined in the United States.

Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KOs) is considering Provodnikov (23-2, 16 KOs) because he’s a more exciting and marketable foe than the feathery-fisted Timothy Bradley.

The 29-year-old Provodnikov last exited the ring on October 19 after brutalizing Mike Alvarado to earn the WBO light welterweight title.

The “Siberian Rocky,” who lost a controversial unanimous decision to Bradley (31-0-0-1, 12 KOs) last March, is a relentless banger who has become more skilled under the tutelage of renowned trainer Freddie Roach.

Provodnikov possesses a granite chin, cement fists and his punches land with resounding thuds.

Supremely confident and in tremendous physical condition, the “Siberian Rocky” is an overwhelming force in the squared circle.

Unfortunately for the menacing Russian, Roach wouldn’t work with Provodnikov over Pacquiao.

Plus, although a bit more cautious and reserved, the 35-year-old Pacquiao still displays elite footwork and the uncanny ability to deliver punches from all angles.

Considering Roach’s vast knowledge of the “Siberian Rocky,” Pacquiao would be able to expose all of Provodnikov’s weaknesses.

Ultimately, against either Timothy Bradley or Ruslan Provodnikov, expect Manny Pacquiao to emerge victorious on the scorecards this spring.
