Bob Arum found undefeated American boxer Chris Algieri as the top contender for the eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Based on his statement published on Yahoo Philippines this morning, July 16, 2014, the newly crowned WBO Light Welterweight champion is an interesting opponent for the Sarangani Province representative.

"I think it's an interesting fight between him and Manny. I'm excited. This is a college-educated kid, a good boxer, the kind of kid who will draw interest other than the just the hardcore boxing fan. And the kid can also fight, “Bob Arum said in an interview with Dan Rafael of ESPN. The fight between the two WBO champions will happen on November 23 in Macau, China.

The scheduled fight in Macau ended the possible fifth fight between Marquez and Pacquiao in November. Several months ago, after defeating Mike Alvarado, Juan Manuel Marquez also known as “Dinamita” in the boxing world, revealed that he is ready to fight anyone, but when asked about the possible fifth fight against the fighting congressman from Sarangani, Province, JMM said he will consult his family first before he reveal his decision.

Meanwhile, despite his scheduled fight with Algieri in Macau, many of his fans worldwide are still eager to see him fighting the "Money-Man," Floyd Mayweather Jr., according to them; the much awaited fight between him and the pound for pound king will be the biggest fight in the history of boxing. They added that Manny Pacquiao will be declared winner if the fight happens. Manny Pacquiao has already said his piece; he said he wanted the fight to happen for the sake of his fans.

A few months ago, Floyd talked about Manny Pacquiao; according to him, the congressman just wanted to fight him because of the big money involved. After reading his statement, the former pound for pound king encouraged Floyd to fight for a charity. Sadly, Floyd is still not accepting the PacMan’s challenge up to now. The latest report said he will be in the boxing ring again this coming September 13 for a rematch with the hard hitting Marcos Maidana.
