Manny Pacquiao draws comparison to Muhammad Ali

Over the weekend, Manny Pacquiao attended the star studded birthday gala from legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. The former heavyweight champion turned 70 and had a huge birthday bash in Las Vegas. Pacquiao's attendance sparked comparisons between himself and Ali. Muhammad's family even chimed in on the comparisons. According to a Monday February 20th report by ABS-CBNnews.com, Muhammad Ali's daughter Rasheda made the following comments about Pacquiao and her father:

"Manny reminds me of my dad. He is a very generous person, a very loving person. He takes the celebrity status and gives it back to the community. That's what my dad has done. You know, he is one of the few boxers that give back to the community."

Nearly 2,000 people attended the birthday gala including some of Hollywood's top actors, hip hop's top performers, and the sporting world's top athletes. However, the boxing world was drawn to the interactions between Pacquiao and Muhammad Ali.

Manny considers Ali to be the greatest boxer in the world. Although he's flattered by the comparisons, he feels that Ali is in a class all by himself. However, both fighters have done a lot for their communities and sparked societal changes. Pacquiao has taken a more formal approach as he became congressman. Some people, like Bob Arum, who fell that Pacquiao will end up as the president of his homeland the Philippines.

Pacquiao is set to fight Timothy Bradley on June 9th in Las Vegas. The press tour will kick off this week to promote the upcoming fight. Although Manny is the favorite, some pundits feel Bradley will be a tough opponent and that his "dirty" style of fighting could cause problems for Manny.
