Despite the Broncos suffering a very upsetting defeat to the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Peyton Manning wanted to give Ray Lewis his words of encouragement. After the epic double-overtime playoff game that left the Ravens victorious, Manning decided to wait inside a vacant Ravens locker room for Lewis. On Jan. 13, the Huffington Post also said his wife and their 2-year-old son Marshall accompanied him.
When Lewis finally entered the locker room, he was greeted with these kind words from Ashley Manning,
"I'm so happy for you,"
It is unclear exactly what Peyton Manning and Lewis talked about, but it was pretty obvious the nature of the conversation was congratulatory and admiring. Manning made it pretty clear that if he couldn't have a shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy this time, he wanted the retiring Ray Lewis to.
After their conversation, Ashley Manning asked for the two football greats to take a picture together. Despite the heart-breaking loss, Manning stood next to Lewis with all smiles as the picture was taken, and afterwards they shook hands and parted ways.
