Hail to the Swedes who have given us world-class chocolate, watches, and now revolutionary storefront mannequins that represent real women with real curves. Finally!
The mannequins have made their debut on the world stage at an H & M store in Sweden and are making a big splash. They are fleshier, fuller in the thighs, and sporting lingerie while looking sexy as all get out. Let's face it. These plastic women are more reality based than their predecessors who traditionally come in sizes 4-6.
Healthy body image for women is getting a boost with these lovely ladies who despite a curvier appearance still would have a healthy body mass index. Media is fond of showing us the perceived idea of true beauty as bony, underweight, completely cookie-cutter shapes lacking in the very assets that make a woman gorgeous. It's the differences in sizes and shapes that make women beautiful; thick thighs, slim thighs, big breast, medium breasts, small breasts, tall, short, athletic, curvy, slim, blonde, brunette, red-headed, short hair, long hair, no hair, tattooed, pierced, pony-tailed, coiffed, mussed, messy, made-up, and more!
Women need to see themselves when they view fashion, and these real-life replicas of the female form are just the ambassadors to help promote healthy body image.
Many modeling agencies are changing their standards by having models with healthier figures and not hiring waifs who look like third-world starved orphans. Now the Swedish people have upped the game by creating mannequins with more!
Thank you, Sweden, for bringing sexy back!
