Mannequin floating in canal turned out to be a human body

A mannequin found floating in a Scottsdale canal on Saturday turned out to be a human body.

Authorities were notified that a mannequin was floating in a rain-swollen wash in an area south of Jackrabbit and west of Hayden Road in Scottsdale, Az., reports KPHO news.

"We had a passerby that saw what he thought was a mannequin floating in the water so he called us because he thought that was odd. So our officers responded," Scottsdale Police Officer Dave Pubins told My Fox Phoenix.

When the authorities responded they found that the mannequin was actually the body of Nicky Yuen, 38, a woman that went missing from her group home on Friday.

Scottsdale police said that Yuen, who had mental health condition and was known to take walks.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, Pubins said.
