This quick and simple mix is an awesome alternative to cheap beer at any summer party. You can bring it in a pitcher ready to go, or leave it in the fridge at your own celebration.
It’s not a perfect margarita as described by the National Tequila Examiner and falls a bit below my own standard, but the mango margarita isn’t supposed to win medals. There’s a time for showing off your mixological prowess, and a time for forgetting about shakers, jiggers, and de-mineralized ice and simply enjoy the taste of fruit-sweetened tequila.

A pitcher of mango margarita is easy to make, easy to enjoy
Mango Margarita
(makes about one and a half quarts)
Ingredients:
- 3 cups mango nectar (I used Trader Joe’s brand)
- 2 cups oro (gold) or blanco tequila
- 1 cup triple sec
- 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
Directions:
The tedious part is cutting and juicing the limes, so use a juicer. Otherwise, pour everything into a pitcher, stir vigorously, and serve over ice.
FYI, the typical 750 ml bottle of tequila is just a bit over three cups, and a bottle of mango nectar is usually about eight cups.
A pitcher of this stuff goes fast, so watch out.
