Mane in Heaven is a volunteer organization that takes its four minature horses on the road to visit people who might benefit from therapeutic interaction with the small horses. Miniature horses may be as small as a large dog and can offer a comforting presence to those who pet their coats and brush their manes. The Mane in Heaven website offers information about these delightful creatures. Pictures of the minis are also on the Mane in Heaven site.

Arlington Park is teaming up with the Mane in Heaven organization for a number of events during the track’s 2014 meeting. The racetrack opens for the season on Friday, May 2. Arlington’s partnership with Mane In Heaven will begin with a special event at Thompson Center in Chicago on Thursday, May 1, sure to surprise and delight its audience.

Mane In Heaven minis will also be present on select Sunday Family Days presented by the Daily Herald when that weekly promotion begins Memorial Day weekend. They will also participate in Arlington’s event at U. S. Cellular Field, in Chicago, on Monday, Aug. 4 when the Chicago White Sox host the Texas Rangers.
