South Florida's go-to hotel for the rich, famous and royal, The Mandarin Oriental set the scene for the South Florida press junket for Screen Gem's upcoming release, Think Like a Man Too, the sizzling follow-up to the box office smash Think Like a Man adapted from the book Like a Lady, Think Like A Man, written by comedian and talk show host Steve Harvey. Nestled quietly on a private drive on ultra-exclusive Brickell Key, The Mandarin Oriental, Miami is an urban oasis providing unsurpassed levels of luxury and privacy. While waiting for our day with stars from the film, I engaged the valet, concierge and front desk manager in conversation for hopes of getting the 411 on celeb goings on in the hotel to no avail. Your secrets are certainly safe at the Mandarin Oriental.
The idyllic location is literally a 44-acre island in Biscayne Bay and is by far one of Miami’s most prestigious commercial and residential locations. Just minutes from Miami’s international financial district and convenient to Miami International Airport, South Beach, the Design District and Coconut Grove, it was perfect for the films stats LaLa Anthony and Michael Ealy, who had less than 24 hours in South Florida to promote the film. They did however have a little time to enjoy the 326-room waterfront hotel's contemporary and dynamic design, which features Miami’s most spacious guest rooms and suites. My time with the stars was short so I didn't have time to ask LaLa Anthony if she had a chance to check out the five-star Spa at Mandarin Oriental and their much talked about combination of pampering and rejuvenating treatments and the exclusive Beauty by Mandarin Oriental line of results-oriented treatments, but not to worry I will share the details with you during Miami Spa Month.
The film's reps, Allied-THA, set up our interviews in Azul, the pearl of the Mandarin Oriental Miami. The 120-seat, award-winning signature restaurant, is a MUST for the upcoming Miami Spice. offering intimate, elegant waterfront dining, Chef William Crandall's delectable menu rich with Miami’s international cultural influences and Azul's brilliant wine program, designed by wine director Todd Phillips, features more than 700 world-class wines, But we can only reminisce about those great meals right now…it’s An Early AM call and I asked the stars of the film how did their nights out in Las Vegas compare to Miami? “Vegas is great, says Michael Ealy, but we’ve got lots of love for Miami!
Opening June 20th, Think Like A Man Too catches up with the group of close friends we were introduced to the first film whose escapades in romance were met with advice from nationally syndicated radio host Steve Harvey’s New York Times best-selling book Act like a Lady, Think like a Man. Now that advice has led to a big wedding in LasVegas and all the mayhem that entails. In the midst of one couple making it to the alter, all of the couples must face the challenges of growing together and in love.
