Manchester United sign Nani to massive new deal as Red Devils chase Javi Garcia

Despite two years remaining on his current contract, Nani has just signed a massive new deal with Manchester United that puts the Portuguese winger into their top earners bracket alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic.

The 2007 addition to the Red Devils did take a little bit of time to come into his own and it was not until the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid that Nani started to come to life for the English Premier League club.

The SunReports that he has put pen to paper on his new deal which will tie him to the club for the foreseeable future despite outside interest from clubs such as Italian Serie A’s Juventus.

Along with sealing up Nani for the long term, Sir Alex Ferguson and the EPL club have become embroiled in a duel with Serie A defending champions AC Milan over the summer transfer of Portuguese side Benfica’s Spanish midfield star Javi Garcia.

TalkSportclaims that the Rosseneri and Red Devils both hope to bring the player in but the Italian outfit may have more room in their midfield at the moment than Manchester United.

United also have to think about what is to come of their current young stars in Anderson and Tom Cleverly as continued additions could slow their development or force them out in the coming years.

Injuries have caused a lack in the amount of central midfielders at United all season which prompted the quick return of Paul Scholes from retirement but once all of United’s players are healthy Garcia would face a tough battle to secure a first team place.
