In a press release on Monday, Dec. 23, Manchester Police reported that on Friday, Dec. 20, the department’s Street Crime Unit conducted two separate motor vehicle stops, in which each driver was arrested on drug charges.
Police stated that Richard Mitchell, 35, of Raymond, NH, is charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug and John Parker, 49, of Manchester is charged with two counts of Possession of a Narcotic Drug. Additionally, he was charged with Violation of Bail Conditions as a result of a November, 2013 arrest on drug related charges.
According to the press release, at about 4:00 PM Street Crime Unit officers observed a vehicle engaged in possible drug activity and conducted a stop of that vehicle on Central Street, identifying the driver as Richard Mitchell.
Further investigation revealed that Mitchell was in possession of a small amount of suspected crack cocaine and was subsequently arrested.
Later that night, at about 10:15 PM, the same officers observed another vehicle believed to be involved in suspected drug activity. They stopped the vehicle in the area of Lincoln Street and Cedar Street and identified the driver of the car as John Parker.
During the subsequent investigation, Parker was found in possession of a small amount of suspected heroin and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine. He was placed under arrest.
