Manchester Police arrested two Massachusetts men Thursday, January 10, 2013, after undercover investigators found 10 pounds of marijuana in their possession.

According to a press release by the Manchester Police Department, officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Division developed information indicating that a large source of marijuana was operating out of a Northampton, Massachusetts location. The SED initiated an operation during which undercover officers posed as prospective buyers, coordinating the delivery of ten pounds of marijuana from Northampton to Manchester.

With the assistance of Massachusetts State Police, New Hampshire State Police and HIDTA, officers conducted surveillance of the Northampton address, where officers observed two suspects leaving the address with large duffle bags.

Officers followed a vehicle, departing the address with the two suspects, until it pulled into the parking lot of the Econolodge Hotel at 75 W. Hancock Street, Manchester, where the suspects checked into a room.

Undercover officers made contact with the men and arranged to meet them at the nearby Comfort Inn on Queen City Avenue for the proposed transaction. When the men arrived at the Comfort Inn, both were detained without incident and identified as Rodney Sinclair and Henry Pacheco, both 47, of Northampton, Massachusetts.

Sinclair was found in possession of a duffle bag containing three pounds of marijuana, as well as over $1500 in cash while he was at the Comfort Inn. Police recovered an additional seven pounds of marijuana while executing a search warrant at the Econolodge hotel room rented by the men subsequent to their detention.

As a result of information developed during this operation, Massachusetts State Police were able to execute two additional search warrants in their jurisdiction, resulting in the seizure of an additional six pounds of marijuana and approximately $8,000 in cash. The combined total of sixteen pounds of marijuana seized has an estimated street value of $56,000.

Sinclair and Pacheco were both arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug with the Intent to Distribute. They were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester District.
