Manchester City are looking to Portugal to address their depth problems at center back.
FC Porto’s Elaquim Mangala has become a major target for the title-challenging club and is said to be weighing up a £20m bid, according to the Daily Mail.
At just 23 years of age, Mangala would be considered a long-term addition to the squad and could fit in straight away next to captain Vincent Kompany.
City nearly acquired Mangala in the January window, but a deal collapsed as the window closed.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United have shown interest in the French center half who moved to Porto for £5.4m from Standard Liege. In his time there, he’s won back-to-back titles and has also featured at left back.
Mangala is also considered a major threat on set pieces.
