Too many anglers pay too little attention to managing their fishing line when casting. Any angler that ever used a spinning reel has had an experience with wind knots. Some folks call them wind knots and others call them bird nests, but regardless of what you call them they can take serious time away from fishing. Who wants to spend fishing time untangling line?
A new YouTube video gives a great explanation of fishing line management. Capt. Chris Myers from Central Florida Sightfishing Charters has years of fishing experience on Florida's East Coast and around the state. He has explained line management as well as it can be explained.
His suggestions include:
-
Use your index finger to control the cast
-
Close the bail by hand
-
Keep a tight line in the wind
You can see these points demonstrated and learn how to avoid those “ten dollar knots” by watching the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsCx5PYV-08&feature=uploademail
