A man and a woman were shot Sunday afternoon at a Subway restaurant in northwest Atlanta.
Police on Monday were still searching for the shooter.
The incident, which happened near the Georgia Dome shortly before the game, occurred after the man and woman were involved in an argument with a man at the restaurant at Northside Drive and Markham Street, according to Atlanta police.
“As they left the location someone fired one round, which struck both victims,” police spokesman Officer John Chafee said.
Both were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police did not release any details on their injuries.
“At this time it appears as though the male involved in the argument with the victims is also the shooter,” Officer Chafee said.
It’s unclear why the three were arguing and police have not said whether there were any other patrons in the restaurant at the time.
They also have not yet released a description of the suspect in the double shooting. Police said it was unclear if the victim had been headed to the Falcons game at the nearby Georgia Dome when the shooting occurred.
