Two days after a woman reported her husband missing, he and another woman were found shot to death at the woman’s home in Columbia.
Tuesday night, officers responded to the home at 2224 Gadsden St. and discovered the bodies inside the garage, according to Columbia police.
Ms. Anne Jervey , 59, and Mr. Robert Galphin III, 51, of 524 Amherst Ave., died as a result of complications of a gunshot wound, Richland County Coroner Mr. Gary Watts said Wednesday.
Mr. Galphin’s wife reported him missing to Columbia police Sunday, police spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Timmons said.
“She and other relatives tell CPD Investigators that they had not heard from Galphin since mid-September and were concerned about his well-being,” Ms. Timmons said.
A detective went to the Gadsden Street home Tuesday while investigating the missing person’s case and found the bodies.
Officials said he was given permission to enter the home, but they did not say who allowed his entrance.
So far, officials have not said provided a ruling the manner of the deaths.
